Yes! Queen City is an adult-use recreational dispensary that sells cannabis to any adult 21 and older with valid government issued ID. Voters said “yes” to recreational dispensaries in November 2020.

According to New Jersey’s adult-use cannabis regulations, dispensaries are allowed to sell you up to the equivalent of 28.35 grams or 1 ounce of usable cannabis in each transaction. That means up to:

  • 28.35 grams (1 ounce) of dried flower, or
  • 4 grams of solid cannabis concentrates or resin, or the equivalent of 4 grams of concentrate in liquid form (solution in milliliters), or
  • 4 grams of vaporized formulations like what’s in vape carts, or
  • 1,000 mg of multiple ingestible cannabis-infused products, or
  • The equivalent of 1 ounce in any combination of products.

When visiting Queen City or any NJ cannabis dispensary, you must bring a valid, non-expired, government-issued ID proving you are of legal age (21) to purchase cannabis products in the state. This is mandatory to comply with state regulations. You’ll show your ID at the front desk when you check in at Queen City, before you enter the dispensary itself. Applicable forms of identification include:

  • Your driver’s license, issued by NJ or any other state or U.S. territory 
  • A non-driver ID issued by NJ or any other state
  • Your passport

You do not need a card to shop at a recreational dispensary in New Jersey. You only need a card to shop for medical cannabis. Queen City is an adult-use dispensary, which means that anyone 21 or older can buy cannabis from us, as long as they show valid ID at check-in.

You can enjoy your cannabis products in a private space in New Jersey, such as your own home or a friend’s home. But that doesn’t mean it’s legal to light up in all places. For example, if you rent, your landlord may not allow cannabis consumption.

Plainfield, our home town, is one of approximately 90 municipalities that “opted in” to allow cannabis businesses like dispensaries in their towns. In fact, Plainfield is one of only four towns in Union County to opt in when voters legalized cannabis in November 2020.

In short, yes. Certain types of edibles — specifically, soft chews and gummies, also called “soft lozenges” — are legal in New Jersey. You can also buy beverage enhancers in New Jersey recreational dispensaries. Edible baked goods like cookies or brownies are currently not allowed in New Jersey’s recreational cannabis market.

While prices will vary by location and product, all cannabis transactions are subject to New Jersey sales tax of 6.625%. Municipalities in New Jersey may also charge a Local Cannabis Transfer Tax of up to 2% on sales of recreational cannabis. The city of Plainfield charges this 2% tax.

Most dispensaries, including Queen City, accept cash payments. We also accept debit cards and cashless payments through Dutchie Pay. Don’t have cash? No problem: We have ATMs on site that you can use to get the cash you need.
